WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Law 25: Law respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information

The Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information applies to documents held by a professional order to the extent provided by the Professional Code.

The law applies regardless of the form of these documents: written, graphic, sound, visual, computerized or other. It also defines the procedures governing requests for access to information.

The Policy of the Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec on documents and information accessible without restriction provides for mechanisms that promote and facilitate access to information and the protection of personal information.

This policy determines the types of information or documents of a public nature or accessible to any person and which may be disseminated without any restriction under the law. It also specifies the processes for obtaining and consulting this information.

As of September 22, 2022, members practicing in the private sector will have to comply with new requirements regarding the management of the personal information they hold.
