Cappino is very proud of physiotherapist Meghan Straub, on being chosen to present her research project at the prestigious Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) National Congress 2014!

Meghan and her teammates will be presenting their research project entitled: “Developmental Outcomes in Infants Diagnosed with Non-Synostotic Plagiocephaly or Torticollis: A Follow-Up Study of Motor Development at School Age” at the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s National Congress in Edmonton, AB in June 2014. Under the guidance of Dr. Isabelle Gagnon from the Montreal Children’s Hospital, their study examined the motor development of school-aged children with a diagnosis of non-synostotic plagiocephaly and/or torticollis compared to published norms to see whether they had any lasting delays as a result of their infantile diagnosis.

“I will be going to the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) National Congress to present my Master’s Project and represent McGill University…it’s quite an honor!” states Meghan Straub.

As part of their Masters degree, students are required to complete a research project and Meghan’s and her teammates’ was nominated to the CPA for the award, and they won!

In addition, Meghan was also the recipient of a convocation award; the Association Physio Montreal Travel Award, which is presented to select students in the professional Physical Therapy Program, who demonstrate outstanding commitment to their chosen profession.
