Mario Starnino, B.Sc., CAT(C) NKT®, FMS™, Athletic Therapist and Sports Coordinator: Mario graduated from Concordia University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science: Specialization Athletic Therapy. He got certified as an Athletic Therapist in June 2013 and continues his education through seminars around the world. He has completed all levels of NKT® (Neurokinetic Therapy) and is currently studying P-DTR® (Proprioceptive-Deep Tendon Reflex). Doing his internships at John Abbott College and with the Sainte-Anne-De-Bellevue Rugby Club has allowed him to work extensively with a variety of different sports and injuries. Mario is dedicated on helping people by correcting movement patterns and implementing exercises. Taking a global approach to resolvingpain and not just focusing on symptom management leads to an overall complete recovery.

Kelly Cappadocia, B.Sc PhT, Cred. MDT, Head Physiotherapist, Concussion Specialist and Clinical Director: Kelly is a McGill University graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy and has been a physiotherapist since 2002. Over the years, she has attended over 30 post-graduate courses on various orthopedic topics and has taught several physiotherapy classes. She became a Credentialed McKenzie Physiotherapist in 2004, making her a specialist in the evaluation, management and treatment of back and neck pathologies. Kelly is also a reACT Accredited Concussion Therapist, which allows her to properly diagnosis and treat both recreational and elite athletes, as well as those in the general population, who have sustained concussions.

Over the years, Kelly has rehabilitated many high performance athletes, most notably nationally ranked swimmers, divers, synchronized swimmers and Irish dancers. She is a partner and Clinical Director of Cappino Physiotherapy and Wellness Center.

Samantha - OUR TEAM

Samantha Halfyard: B.SC., CAT(C) Athletic Therapist and Concussion Specialist: Samantha is a 2016 graduate from Concordia University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science, specializing in Athletic Therapy. She was awarded with the CATA Annual Scholarship and Concordia’s AT Award of Excellence throughout her studies. She is certified as a Shift Concussion Management Provider as well as CAMP specialist. She is also a member of the CTSQ’s Concussion Committee. Previous to joining the Cappino team, she spent the last two years as the head clinician at Neurocircuit Concussion Management where she was a driving force behind the development and advancement of the program. Samantha has experience treating both acute concussions and those suffering from Post-Concussion Syndrome at all ages and activity levels. Her passion for this evolving healthcare profession and concussions is apparent in her continuous interest in learning as well as sharing her knowledge with those around her.

Meghan Straub, B.Sc. M.Sc A. PhT, Physiotherapist: Meghan is a graduate of McGill University with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy and member of l’ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Quebec (OPPQ). She has completed several stages with high-distinction in the fields of orthopedics, neurology and pediatrics and has worked with the McGill Women’s Rugby team for the past three years. In addition, Meghan has taken courses on the treatment of orthopedic conditions, cancer rehabilitation and advanced pediatric physical therapy.
